Need DVD copy protection help...

I have a DVD of a group of people skiing that was made by a guy who videotapes ski instructors and then converts the tape to DVD. I want to edit it to produce a file that just has one or two of the skiers instead of 12 of them. The DVD plays fine in a standard DVD player but I cannot copy it to my hard drive. Using DVD shrink doesn't work and DVD Fab produces video with really bad skips and jumps.

I know nothing about DVD copy protection and how to defeat it other than using the two proggies mentioned above. I would really appreciate any suggestions or tips anyone can offer.

Thanks

What version of dvdfab are you using? Ive never had an issue with it but I always make sure I have the latest version for backup purposes.

I think DvD Decrypter is outdated.

Yup it is, but it still works fine on the majority of DVDs in existence, even new ones.

If this isn't a commercial disc, this might not have any protection and all and the issues you have might be caused by an originally bad encode. These are the kinds that will play, but when ripped, there are unexpected issues.
