Bought myself a new Lappy. Dell Inspirion 1150 with a P4 2.8 ghz chip, 512 MB Ram, 60 Gig HDD (at least thats what I payed for, it shows up as a 52.8Gig drive under properties)
Intel X-treme graphics2 for mobile 64Mb ram.
I'm not so sure if i like this Lappy as much as I did like my old 3800.
First it looks very cheap, 14" screen with a huge amount of plastic around it, the only ports are 2 USB 1 VGA, LAN, Phone, Audio out and Mic, 1PCMCA slot, No LPT or SB2 port. The picture itself seems kind of fuzzy when watching a movie, the speakers really suck, and Dell still didnt figure out how to put a volume control somewhere on the outside. It is larger and heavyier then my old 3800 even do it is the same size of screen.
The touchpad isnt as smoth and responsive as the old one and the keyboard layout is kind of weird too.
Will see how it will stand up in real use.
I tried to run Aquamark, the word is tried, It ran at 4.5 FPS in the beginning of the test, so exit the whole thing before it would lock up the system.
Maybe i just keep my old one and sell the new one again.
All the best from the west!

Kinda sad when you can apply a statement you heard from your father or grandfather in RL.

They just don't make them the way they used to.
