Palm m505 problem

Post by NascarFool »

I have a Palm m505 that will not respond to the taps from the stylus. I reset the thing and it still doesn't respond. It starts up and goes to the setup screen and says to tap on the screen to continue. Tapping the screen does nothing. Got any clues ?

have you tried resetting the os ? I've had to do that to the Palms at work. Problem is you could lose some info.

As mentioned, I did reset it. ;) I picked this up cheap and it is like brand new. It comes on, the backlite works but it don't respond to the tapping. I even unhooked the battery.

I have a palm professional at work that had that problem. There is a connector that is accessed by taking the back off and it would get loose consistantly. Re-attachment solved the problem. I know it's a different model, but maybe a similar problem?

*Edit* The top layer of the screen was stuck to the glass. I carefully took it apart and got it to work. It has a dead spot in the area that was stuck. A new glass top is around $70. I don't think it's worth spending that much. I'll take it apart and clean it again. Maybe a second cleaning will fix it up. :)
