I remember FP posted a data recovery company that he referred us to. I have a friend who borked up a thumb drive and bent it to a 45 degree angle.
Can anyone find the link or know of a good company?
I can't find the Data Recovery company thread

I've used DTI Data Recovery: http://www.dtidata.com/
I don't think they do thumb drives - only hard drives.
If he bent the USB connector then I'd take it to a mom & pop computer or electronics place. You want someone with good eyes and a small soldering iron to either reconnect the USB connector if the pins broke off the circuit board or, have them solder a USB cable to it if the connector is not salvageable.
As demonstrated here:

Now if he bent and broke the circuit board inside the USB stick then it's a lost cause.

Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.
