Opinions on Apple installing the new U2 album w/o asking?

Kinda surprised that no one's mentioned it but it's an odd move by them and makes you wonder what else they might install someday w/o your permission.

For those who don't know, a couple days ago Apple just installed the latest U2 album into everyone's iphone or ipad or ipod touch w/o asking anyone if they wanted it.
I don't have an iphone but do have an ipad and sure enough, it's there. Not one pop-up and anything asking your permission first so that's pretty invasive.

I don't think it should've been automatically added. Apple could've just pasted it on the front page of itunes that the album was free. There was also a TV commercial and I'm sure it was on the social media so everyone knew about the new album.

I personally think that artists shouldn't give away their work. It makes me feel as if they don't think highly of it.

They didn't give it away. Apple paid them a substantial sum of money.

I heard that it's being free is a new approach to selling their tour also, backwards of how everyone else does it.

They haven't really had a decent album in quite some time.
Seems like a desperate attempt to force it on us, then say "Look how many people have our album". LOL

An egotistical douchbag band, partnered with a douchbag egotistical company?

Whouda thunk it?

I just laugh at it though. As I am raging at Apple when I have to deploy a bunch of Mac pro's and spend more time changing all the stupid bullshit default settings they insisit on, than actually installing the hardware.
