Google Nexus 6P review (Pure Android)

The Good: One of the first two Android 6.0 phones, Google's metal Nexus 6P has a sharp, high-resolution screen and a solid camera, an accurate fingerprint reader, loud speakers and works with every major carrier. Its lower cost makes it a good top-tier value buy.
The Bad: It's big, a bit boxy and top-heavy, the fingerprint reader's position isn't always convenient and the 6P ditches the wireless charging of previous models.
The Bottom Line: The Nexus 6P doesn't have the most inspiring design, but when it comes to hardware prowess, value for money and Google extras, this best-ever Nexus is hard to beat.

Thanks. One of the phones I'm going to look long and hard at.

Isnt this review like, 6 months out of date at this point?
Anyway, if you are not married to instant OS updates, the Moto X 2015 is a damn nice phone for very little money. I have been very happy with it over the last few months (bought it in March I think).

Moto X is on my short list as well, but I would buy the unlocked pure edition to avoid all the bloatware.
I assume the pure edition also gets updates direct from Google? Anyone know for sure?

It does not. I have a unlocked pure version. Moto puts out security updates every 2 or so months. Remember Google sold them off a while ago.

Well as long as you can get regular updates via Motorola that wouldn't be bad.
I love my 1st Gen Moto-X, but it's a a Verizon branded model and Verizon is in the f'ing dark ages when it comes to updates. We only just got LOLLIPOP three months ago, and NONE of the updates for the recent critical bugs in the media server so wife and I have auto MMS downloads disabled.

Yeah, if it's something critical like Stagefright they are quick. We shall see how fast Nougat comes out for it.

I wish they would add external storage to the Nexus. It's not that the internal storage isn't enough but I like to be able to simply pop the card out and transfer my pics and music to another phone without having to use a computer. I'm very interested in their Project Fi

Thats one of the reasons I went with the Moto over the Nexus. Addon SD card support.

Hmmm...
Motorola confirms that it will not commit to monthly security patches
