This cost Apple $1 Billion. Intel retains the ability to develop modems for PC, Internet of things, and autonomous vehicles. I can't help but thing Apple is on the losing end with this deal. 5G isn't that great yet and may never be that good for cell phones. Plus, cell phone sales are going to reach stagnation at some point soon. However, IOT and autonomous vehicles seem to be where the money is at.
