what we have found is with my new google pixel phone . that my contact phone numbers are now listing these same people's email address .this is if they have a Gmail phone number associated to there Gmail . as we never had there Email address listed in my old phone . so IM shocked to see there listed now .plus we use a different email server for keeping and storing my contacts then Gmail .
not a public one like Yahoo or Gmail (Gmail as a 2nd due to we kind of have to for some sites .)

Surprised you never noticed before. Maybe because you didn't have a pure android phone previously. This has been happening for years.

i'vd been on samsung phones going back as long as i can remember .i think are blackberry flip was the last non -samsung .and always used to just port my address and contacts over. don't think we needed to Google download them .glad we did have them saved on google after last weekend . Samsung has there own way of saving them to .but only seems to work samsung to samsung phones.
