Those using Google Pixel

Post by Executioner »

Have you upgraded your phone to Android 16 that came out last month? I just got the upgrade notice on my Pixel 8 Pro, but paused the installation because it was taking forever. Also, some have been complaining that it causes more issues like overheating and frying your wifi card inside the phone.

I'm stalling on my Pixel 6. I don't like to be a first adopter.

I have ver 16 on my Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It's been working fine so far. No issues that I've noticed. Installed quickly on mine. Wife has the Pixel 9 Pro (non-folding) and that one is also working just fine.
I'll keep an eye on it but so far it's been OK.

Well my Pixel 6 XL's case seems to be coming apart. Doesn't seem to be battery swelling. I have dropped it a few times and while the Spiden case I have on it has protected it, I think it's broken the glue bond.

Probably time to order a Pixel Pro 9 and migrate.

I usually update the phone for security reasons only. I got pissed off at Samsung when my S8 quit receiving updates. Never was notified. This AI stuff is getting ridiculous. AI is everywhere now. As for this new update, I noticed my battery lasting a bit longer by 5%.

I ordered a new Pixel 9 Pro XL phone yesterday. Strangely, no one had a 256GB version, only 128GB, which is strange for a flagship phone. Amazon only had refurbs, and no luck online at Walmart, BestBuy, etc. No one had 512GB either, which is more than I need, but I was willing to pay for it (my old Pixel 6 is 256GB which has been more than adequate, but 128GB is not enough for what I do).

Then I got the idea to check Google's store, and sure enough they have it in stock in 256 and 512. Done deal.

I'm sure you'll be pleased with it. We're very happy with our Pixel Pro 9s and I'm enjoy having the Fold, when I'm bored someplace I've been dragged to. I'll put my earbuds in and watch some IPTV or something from my media server.

one problem we have is charging on my wireless stand . will say its a Amazon yootech stand & im using a Spigen case. sometimes it seems to take a long time to charge. other times we have to reset the phone on the stand to connect. not sure if its the stand or case . when we first place the phone on the stand it will light up green . i know if it dont light up we have to reset the phone on it,
also found the case make it hard to do restarts of the phone when needed using the side buttons. so we have to use the Gemini software.
do kind wish we would of got the larger 256 memory - the 128 ok for the most part for me .but we have had to purge the phone once already .

will say 90 % or better of the time when the wife and I go in her 2021 GMC Acadia the bluetooth on my Pixel wins to connect :)

I have always used Spigen cases on my Pixels, and never have a problem, but I only use Google's Pixel charging stands - I have three of them scattered around the house. I did have trouble finding a cradle that charged properly for the car, but then I found one at Sam's that works very well.
