Alt Key Symbols

Post by blade »

Ever wondered how some make symbols like ©, ™, ®, ¶,

from:
http://www.britfeld.com/aboutme/alt.htm

*

How do you get the symbol you want?
*

Hold the Alt Key down
*

Type the number next to the symbol you want, using the Calculator part of your keyboard
*

Release the Alt Key
*

And there you have it, your symbol.

Are those just ASCII characters??? Back in the days of DOS we used to make directories using that.
Try alt 255, it's the space character. Man it used to piss some teachers off.

What do you mean you cant delete these folders you renamed with these special characters?

Also, I just used this technique to rename my recycle bin to the space key and now on my desktop is just a plain Icon with no text :)
