I really don't think christianity wants to "compete" in the same manor.

I probably phrased that wrong.... You hear about some people who want to teach intelligent design in school etc.... when there is really no active research into the theory. That is where my mind was when I said compete.

BTW, could you imagine this thread on another forum, lol

True... that is one of the big un answered questions. My point is that there are people looking for those answers.

I read something just the other day that time may have been around before the big bang, and that the universe may have gone through more than just one. Kind of a cyce of big bang, expansion, contraction, and big bang again.

chickens lay eggs
in order to have a chicken egg, a chicken must lay one

well that would depend on what theory you believe
i would say it was created by some intellingent being
this includes but is not limited to God, aliens, whatever floats your boat
i personally would say God

and if your next question is "where did god come from?" the answer is you have just placed a limit on God and thus you do not understand what God is. so if that is your next question i cant help your limited understanding

What about this theory: We were placed here ~10,000 yrs ago by an alien race that bread us with another human type, and planted us here on earth to see if this species would survive and prosper.

The only problem with this theory is: no God, but it leaves in tact that the earth is several billions year old, and it might explain our being here for only several thousands of years, and not evolved from apes.

But I do like the Matrix idea.
