New Air Force One

Post by Err »

I guess we're getting new Air Force Ones.

However, I remember that he originally cancelled the plans. It looks like he didn't. He stated that Boeing gave them a good deal. What do you want to bet the cost is the same or more.

You can't believe a word this man says.

To be fair, he never actually cancelled it. Just threatened to. He did say he renegotiated it for a better deal, but in actuality the price had already been reduced before he got involved.

There was never really any doubt about the deal going through. The existing planes are now 30 years old and reaching the end of their life.

I'm ambivalent about the color scheme. He wants to change it to a red white and blue flag sort of thing. All my life I've been used to the light blue and white scheme from the Kennedy era. But I don't think it's a big deal either way.

For the record, I think we do need new Air Force Ones and should do everything possible to protect out leaders. I would think that you'd want a color scheme that's harder to distinguish from any other airliner but that probably doesn't matter. I seem to remember military planes being painted a certain way to camouflage them from the ground.
