Infowars founder and conspiracy-theory aficionado Alex Jones is reportedly seeking more than $100,000 in court costs from a Sandy Hook family suing him for defamation. A hearing will begin Wednesday in the lawsuit filed by Veronique De La Rosa and Leonard Pozner, a couple who lost their 6-year-old son in the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting in December 2012. The couple argues that Jones’ claims of the shooting being a hoax led to a barrage of death threats against them, ultimately forcing them to relocate seven times. A separate hearing scheduled for Thursday stems from another defamation lawsuit—one filed by Marcel Fontaine, a man falsely identified as the Parkland school shooter on the Infowars website. In both cases, Jones is reportedly playing the victim by arguing the defamation allegations are an attempt to silence him, The New York Times reports. In court filings submitted ahead of trial this week, Jones and his lawyers argue the Pozner family’s lawsuit aims “to silence those who openly oppose their very public ‘herculean’ efforts to ban the sale of certain weapons, ammunition, and accessories, to pass new laws relating to gun registration and to limit free speech.”

What I can't understand is how can anyone with 2 brain cells take him seriously. Also how has he not been charged for inciting a riot.

My wife posted an article from arstechnica concerning vaccines and how parents should be held financially responsible for outbreaks like the one in New York that cost over $300K to treat the kids.

The comments that followed her post were insane. One person claimed that vaccines caused her to kids to get Autism and Asthma "literally overnight." The other stated that Bill Gates was using vaccines to reduce the world's population. He took part of a TED Talk Bill Gates gave out of context as a source. These idiots are serious and are not trolls.

He must have as good of security as our leaders. I don't know how he's still alive after all the crap he's spread but I believe half the people in the US take the man seriously.
Alex Jones spreads the conspiracy theory that Sandy Hook didn't happen at all. No children were shot and the parents, like the ones suing him, are crisis actors. Infowars even spiced together video of unrelated pictures of some of these parents and children, or people that look a lot like these parents, and stated they've acted at different crisis. Infowars, by the way, is one of the conspiracy sites Facebook refuses to ban even after stating they were cracking down on fake news. YouTube finally issued a single strike against Alex which is a slap on the wrist. All it means is he can't live stream for 90 days. The POS brings in ad revenue and that all sites hosting his content care about. Do yourselves a favor and visit the Infowars mech. section:

What in the what what is all that crap. There has to be a lawsuit in the chemicals somewhere. I never did like him. He reminds me of Mancow what with the spouting off shit that is clearly not correct but says it is and if you argue he hangs up.

Judge Scott Jenkins of the 53rd District Court ruled in Austin, Texas, on Thursday that the Infowars host must face claims from Leonard Pozner and Veronique De La Rosa. They’re seeking more than $1 million in damages for his repeated lies about the 2012 massacre. The ruling came after Jones attempted to get his case dismissed earlier this month.
“After considering the arguments of counsel and the record, including plaintiffs’ declarations filed on August 2, the court ORDERS that defendants’ motion is in all respects DENIED,” the court filing said.
Pozner and De La Rosa lost their 6-year-old son, Noah, when a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
