WTF?

Post by FlyingPenguin »

Last week Trump tells Chris Wallace he 'hasn't decided' if there will be a smooth transition of power if Biden wins. Then today he tweets that the election should be delayed because of Covid (you know, the virus that's just 'going away'), causing even all his supporters in the senate to spontaneouly spit out their coffees.

Then Pompeo declares that delaying the election would be a “legal determination” left up to the Department of Justice.

WTF is going on?

Look at Trumps behavior. Are you really that surprised? Mr. 20,000+ (stupid, easily provable) lies in less than 1300 days? He's been building up to this shit for months with the false claims about mail in election fraud, fucking with the USPS, etc.

Unless another Republican shows up, this republican is voting for Biden. I don't give a shit what Biden's age is or mental state, he's not trying to constantly skirt our laws or shit all over our constitution. I can't even fathom how any American can just accept that. Trump can move to NK or Russia and suck on commie dick for all I care. Our government was formed with 3 equal branches of government, none more powerful than the other. But to Trump, he says fuck that, and dreams to be like Kim Jong-un or Putin. If you support that, then don't be a pussy and hide behind some bullshit excuse about Biden being a "weirdo", just man up and say hey, I want a fucking dictatorship, Trump for life! I'd respect that.

Exec, as long as he doesn't pick Warren for VP (and even then, with gritted teeth) I'm voting for Biden. We need to stop the insanity.

Would I have preferred a moderate Republican like Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney? Yes, but I'll take a moderate Democrat, with a known history.

What exactly is your beef with Biden? He's even attracting moderate Republicans who admit they aren't going to agree with many of his policies, but at least he's a rational adult.

Despite Trump's fear mongering, Biden is anything but far left, nor is he catering to the far left. The far left need HIM more than he needs them. It's not like the Bernie and Warren people are going to go vote for Trump.

You pretty much know what you're getting with him.

Trump is trying to de-legitimatize the election. Is THAT who you want for President? A guy that wants to piss all over the constitution? Because that's basically what he's doing while wrapping himself in the flag.

Republican's should be voting this lunatic out, but vote Republican in the Senate/House, preferably voting the piece of shit enablers out too. Covid-19 will probably take a few more down before it's over. Let them keep attending rally's and fighting masks and science. Science always wins at the end.

As for Biden's VP, I'm hoping he picks Susan Rice.

You really want to compare embarrassing quotes between Biden and Trump? Because that's not going to work out well.

And that quote, BTW, was Biden making a bit of a funny.

But if you want to discuss what Biden did while he was in the Senate:

Bills Sponsored by Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.):

But honestly, he could have done nothing at all in the Senate. I mainly judge him by his vice presidency, and the fact that he did not ever recommend I ingest sanitizer.

I respectfully disagree.

I can deal with a President who says stupid shit but that's one person and he's mostly talk. On the other hand, the Democratic party has been pissing on the Constitution for years now and trying to convert this country into something else. A search online will remind you everything that people on the Left are demanding. Not all of them but many of them. Some of the issues I have are:

-They want to abandon the Electoral College.
-Our First Amendment right of free speech? No, the Democrats have already destroyed that with campus riots, shouting people out of restaurants, and people in black hoods beating us up.
-Our Second Amendment right to bear arms? We’re one of the top countries in gun violence, but subtract five Democrat-run cities and we’re near the bottom.
-The Sixth Amendment, the right to face your accuser, present witnesses, and be represented by counsel? Any proceeding where the accuser doesn’t appear should be dismissed. Check the impeachment hearings; we don’t even know who the whistle-blower is.
-Credibility of our voting system. Obama just used Lewis' funeral to point out how the Right is trying to prevent them from voting with ID requirements. The Left wants illegals to vote.
-Democrats tried to partially repeal the First Amendment, eliminating protections for any political speech that Congress or your state legislature decides might “influence elections” – regardless of its specific content. The only exception would be the media. So if you own a newspaper or TV station, you can say whatever you want. LOL
-Then there's simply the fact that too many of the Democrats are now Democratic Socialists and that's something I simply do not want in this country. That's the bullshit that was sold to many other countries including the one my parents fled, to escape that crap.

I have voted Democrat before but I don't like what I've seen. They're tolerating all the violence out there. It's primarily Democrat-run cities that are some of the most out of control places around and every election it's empty promises. I don't like what I've seen the last 4 years. Lots of my money and their time wasted by the Left, constantly attacking him since election day. I believe it was the Washington Post that ran an article about how the Left now needed to find a way to impeach him. FFS, he hadn't even been President-Elect for 24hrs, let alone taken the oath and they were already attacking him more than they were while he was campaigning.

I think he won because people wanted to spite the politicians. Many of who have been in politics for WAY TOO LONG. We need term limits already and no lifetime salary bullshit.

No sense going back and forth here because we're all set in our minds.

It's a free country and I encourage everyone to vote for whoever you want. Just vote. Because not voting, especially this year, no matter who you're for, would just be stupid.

When I started this thread, though, one of my reasons for the 'WTF?' Is I'm not even sure how casting doubt on mail in voting helps Trump in any way. The whole Senate GOP is going totally bonkers over his statement because it's common knowledge that mail in voting generally helps Republicans.

Pretty common around here for the Republican party to send out mail in ballot requisition forms to registered Republican voters. With our large retiree population, that's a big deal.

Hell even a Pro Trump radio host was wondering, yesterday, if Trump was purposely TRYING to lose. Nothing really makes any sense with this guy.

So Losbot, what you are saying is that you believe all Democrats fall under the same minority extreme that get a spotlight because that's news worthy and sensationalist, so write the entire party off? Man, I sure hope my Democrat friends don't see me as the extreme right wing! Gun toting, bible thumping shove it down your throat neo-nazi!

I'd like you to independently go through your points and actually research them yourself from a variety of sources. I know we all live busy lives and it's not easy, we're constantly getting bombarded by shit from all sides. But I'll pick one, because it's one I 100% believe in, the right to bear arms.
-Our Second Amendment right to bear arms? We’re one of the top countries in gun violence, but subtract five Democrat-run cities and we’re near the bottom.
The majority of US cities are Democrat, but crime has nothing to do with which way a city leans. They are democratic due to the fact that with large populations, the policies needed that can be applied are Democratic. Large cities in turn have a large dense population which can and does lead to more crime. That's just the nature of a city. Even Jacksonville, FL, was up the list of violent crime, is run by a Republican. Miami, FL has had years of increased violent crime even when run by Republicans. I'm not saying these are the only answers, I'm simply pointing out that while it's nice to try and wrap up a cause into a simple it's Democrats or Republicans fault (that''s what most politicians want), the fact is the world is more complicated than that.

Fun fact, large cities (mostly Democratic) tend to have more homicides, rural areas (mostly Republican) tend to have more suicides. So you either live in a city and risk getting shot or you live in the country and risk killing yourself. Not THAT's a WTF.
Best place to live? Medium sized city\suburb. Homicides\suicides are in the middle and control by Democrats and Republicans is about 50/50. Best of both worlds.

Even McConnell, who has his turtle head wedged in Trump's rear, disagrees. McConnell realizes the chaos this would cause.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) flatly dismissed the idea of delaying the general election when asked about it during an interview with Kentucky television.

“Never in the history of the Congress, through wars, depressions and the Civil War have we ever not had a federally scheduled election on time and we’ll find a way to do that again this Nov. 3,” McConnell told Max Winitz, the lead evening anchor at WNKY 40.

When Winitz asked whether the Nov. 3 election date is “set in stone,” McConnell responded “that’s right.”

“We’ll cope with whatever the situation is and have the election on Nov. 3 as already scheduled,” the GOP leader said.

Even Foxnews is shaking their he collective heads over the election delay tweet. Chris Wallace put it succinctly on The Fox News Rundown:
"Joe Biden in April said, I bet you that President Trump is going to try to find a way to delay the election. And the president came back that same month and said, no, I haven't even thought about. Tell Joe he can rest easy," Wallace said. I promise you, those clips will be played. I just don't understand why the president would want to stoke this brushfire."
You can bet your ass the Lincoln Project is working on a video right now along those lines. Again, I just can't understand why Trump thinks this helps him. Or is he just incapable of resisting the impulse to tweet out anything that crosses his mind?

Not to mention stocks tanked yesterday after he tweeted. Another self inflicted wound.
