DeusEx 2 demo released!

Here's some important stuff I've collected so far:

How To Edit Your Controls:

The game works, but the ini changes aren't saved because the file is read only. Go into "My Documents/Deus Ex - Invisible War Demo/" and remove the 'read-only' setting from the "User.ini".

Disable FSAA in the control panel (set to "Application Preference" for ATI cards)
This is important for ATI users. I was getting a slideshow with a 9800 Pro and 2.6GHz P4 until I turned off FSAA.

In \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\Deus Ex - Invisible War Demo\user.ini:
W=MoveForwardBackward 0.800000
S=MoveForwardBackward -0.800000
A=StrafeRightLeft -8.000000
D=StrafeRightLeft 0.800000
this slows down the movement and makes it feel more grounded and less "floaty".

open default.ini in "\Deus Ex - Invisible War Demo\System\" and change FOV__d=61 to FOV__d=70 , this moves the hud out towards the edge of the screen making it less obtrusive.

a. The Deus Ex: Invisible War Demo will not run properly on ATI cards using the Catalyst 3.8 drivers. We specifically do not support these drivers with the demo. Running the demo while using these drivers will cause graphical corruption in-demo, and eventually will cause a crash.
b. While the demo will run properly on the 3.7 drivers, we strongly recommend updating to the Catalyst 3.9 drivers on the ATI site.
c. The 9700 card does not support 800x600 resolution mode.

I have to admit... I'm disappointed with the demo, it feels dumbed down from DX 1...

Hopefully, the full game will be tweaked more toward the PC.... but I'm very doubtfull about it...

ah poo!
I played it, ran fairly well
but I didn't bother doing any of the tweaks... and probably because of that is the reason I didn't much like that demo...
doubt I'll get the full version anyway :) but it was very pretty looking!! lots of detail in there

From what I hear, this may be biggest disapointment of the year.

well, I did like the ragdoll effects when you throw a body down but how many times can I throw a keg at someone before they get mad and attack me? I guess people in the bleary future of deus ex are infinitely more patient than in RL.

unfortunately for PC gamers, this will probably sell like 10 million on the xbox, further pushing titles away from being developed for PC first. the only exception might be HL2.
