Alright, I'm part owner in a LAN and I'm TRYING to figure out some fun things (within reason) to do at some upcoming LAN's What's the coolest, most fun, or the craziest thing you've seen done at a LAN?

Frantically trying to clean and stop the spread of nimda on 50 or more computers using a single floopy diusk with the utility on the disk. OMG that was so crazy. We actually unplugged the switches, I thought the people would revolt
DAMN!

Man... that just sucks. That's why I ALWAYS turn off file and print sharing the night before I hook up to any LAN. In four years I've only caught one virus at a LAN (not ours) and it was because a guy went and enabled file and print sharing on my PC when I wasn't around.

Actually very few computers actually contracted it, 1 guy had the virus and just spread the .eml files, didn't infect computers. File and Printer Sharing can be enabled but just don't share anything or use NetBEUI (I goto a smaller LAN). Never once have we had a major virus like that and I've never contracted a virus there.

The craziest? Hmm..probably rushing to the nearest hardware store to buy some fuses after my friend blew out two at his house because we had about 12 computers +monitors in 2 rooms!

contests are fun. I have held 2 lan parties and both were a blast. the first was a PCA only party and I met some great people from here.
as for the best things...Just make sure your servers are STABLE and you have enough electric! if the stuff works people will have fun...if it doesnt people wil lcomplain.

Here's what to do.........boot up the old traditional...........Unreal Tourny
Then choose the level with opping towers............faceing worlds I think...hold on..shall boot it up.....
OK its in Capture the Flag menu.....called FACE
What you do is this.......only two weapons are allowed...you tell the people in the LAN that only these two are OK....if you can set it in the game then cool , but I dunno how.
Sniper Rifle and Nuke (its up either tower via one of the transporter gates)
One person tends to end up with the nuke.....every other player tried to shoot its arse out of the skt with the rifle!
It makes me laugh like a drain...........watching my mate Deckard flying around tring to find me while I take pot shots at his nuke.
Rules are that you CAN shoot the player CONTROLING the nuke (standing like a lemon) so best bet is for him/her to find a nice hide away
like down the back of the top of the tower on the ledge...........carefull there, its narrow!
Go try it....best on a one on one or two on two.......MUST be equal sides!
