Anyone who is looking forward to this game, well here is a demo for it. I just finished playing it and I love it. It's got an anime theme, nice graphics, smooth animation, good AI, and lots of melee fighting action. I'll be getting this one when it comes out, it kicks a$$!

Me agrees, it really kicks a$$, I love to just try new combos, rarely using the weapons ... this from VE yesterday:

"Look for the Oni to be released on the PC, PS2 and Mac next month."

I love it too, Bungie rules. I hope the X-boxification of Halo still allows it to be as good of a title as it looks to be.

Hate to break up the LoveFest here...

I was seriously underwhelmed by the demo. :(

Mouse sensitivity can't be adjusted and I have to move my mouse halfway across the desk to get her to turn. Jumping blows and while I was trying to throw the bot, I kept kicking/punching it out until it "died" and didn't get back up. As a result, I couldn't progress past that point and will have to go thru ALL of the training to get to that point. I bailed there.

Seriously unfun. :(

OH NO! You mean due to your own ineptness you have to replay a whole 5 minutes of the training?! DAMN! ;)

Seriously, try it again, game is very fun... :)

Why not turn up your mouse sensitivity in the control panel?

Oh yeah I forgot about his beef with that too. Odd, the sensitivity was just fine for me...

Why not change in Control Panel?

Post by DirkBelig »

Because I've got my mouse dialed for Windows works and for Q3, UT, etc. Why do I need to trash my global settings because some company forgot to consider some people may want to adjust the setting? Other games have a slider, why not Oni?

FYI: I have my UT sens. set to 6.0 and my Q3 mouse sens. is 30. I only move my mouse .5"-1" in any game or activity. The people who complained that Everglide pads were too small were beyond my comprehension.

Now I could of course be very wrong here, but I am pretty sure there is a mouse sensitivity slider in the demo.

[EDIT] I am very wrong. There isn't. My apologies.

Oh well, from the looks of the way this thing was released, I don't think it's an official demo or a good representation of the final product. Even so, I really enjoyed it...

There are no doubt some rough edges still to be smoothed out. Like the sensitivity. I have to imagine they will put a slider in there somewhere for the final product. Aside from that, it seemed really cool to me. Let's just hope they can keep the game from becoming repetitive. No matter how a game is made, what graphics it has, etc, repetitiveness will kill it.

Well I'm board tonight so thought Id check the demo out.
Really not bad. And yes it could use a mouse sensitivity setting. Found I to paddle the mouse to do a full turn.

Got through warehouse level a bit ago. Was getting frustrated and almost quit. Was in that final room.. No weapon, One speck of health and getting shot at. Not pretty.
Hid and punched one guy out then snuck around the truck and kicked the guards a$$ took the gun and finished off the others. Then completed the mission.. Took a few (a lot of)tries but it can be done when things seem hopeless..

Just wish there was a save anywhere.. seems to save anywhere it wants to. A big minus :(

Gotta admit though sure feels good tossing someone over your shoulder then kicken em good when they start to get up!
A nice mix of a shoot em up and a kickandpunch game. :)

Not that great really...
I thought it was OK but nothing spectacular...
Bungie should focus ALL of their effort on getting Halo out the door... that game will rock!! Have you guys seen the E3 2000 movie of it ? WOWOWOWOWOW!
