Gothic ownz

Wowza, I just started playing GOTHIC, a great RPG that's been out here in Germany for almost a year.
This is one of the best RPG's I played recently.
The average review score is around mid 80's, it's 3rd person 3D with some sweet graphics.
Estimated average playtime is 100 hours, that roxs compared to many new games that're finished in under 20 hours.

I think Gothic was just recently released in the US ... so when you like RPG's you really wanna get your fingers on this one.

Do you know if there's a DL'able Demo version online? Unlike some here, I like the Gothic theme myself being an old Quake guy and all

Yes, you can download a demo ... but it ain't small, comes at a hefty ~270MB.

I downloaded the 31MB trailer from the first page and got about my max download speed using getright, you can check it out first if ya wonder if it'll be worth the 270MB download.

p.s. the controls are kinda unusual and take some time to get used to ... but the developing storyline and the many choices between the different camps in the game make up for that.

I DLd it today and fired it up. I see what you mean about the controls as they're different from the shooters I usually like to play. I'll try to get use to it.

Interesting looking game, but these damn controls..... UGHHH. Not sure I can get used to this.

I agree, the controls are not the win ... but the game is, I truely enjoyed it.
Just don't play a couple hours straight or your pinky gonna hurt from all the fighting etc.
