Are there any street racing games for the PC ?
I really like playing games like Tokyo Extreme Racer 2 for PS2. Riding on the highway, taking turns where I wanted to, and racing whoever I wanted was really fun.

If there aren't any street racing games than are there any games that let you race to earn money and upgrade your car like in Gran Turismo?

Right now I have Nascar Racing 2002 Season, Grand Prix 4, and Star Wars Racer. Even though Star Wars Racer is really old I still love playing it and it's kewl hooking up my pod racer, hehe.

Are there any new games coming out that I might enjoy ?

The Midtown Madness series. A new version will soon be out, 3. You don't earn money or race whoever you want to race, but it can be fun. If there are any games like Toyko Extreme Racer for PC, let me know, because I would love a game like that.

Midtown Madness 2 (better than 1) has two cities, and you can drive around wherever, and do whatever you want. You can't race or earn money, but Cruise is probably what is mostly used after you beat the other parts of the game.

If you find a sweet racing game, let me know, cause the best one so far in my books is NFS4 and MM2.

Oh, and NFS6 will be out soon, but those aren't cities, they are tracks. I wish we had NFS4 as a huge city, with the same type of system as TER, that would make it THE ultimate game.. :D

Too bad a game like Tokyo Extreme Racer will never see the light of day on a PC. It would be so kewl.

So hard to find a racing game for PC that gives you an adrenaline rush like TER.

Pro Race Driver from Codemaster looks pretty decent. A racing game with a storyline. Can't wait til that comes out. Hope it's good.

I never really liked any of the Need for Speed racing games. Just couldn't get into it.

I played Midtown Madness, the first one, a long time ago. It wasn't too bad, had fun but I don't think I would like to play it anymore.

GTA3's main aspect is racing/driving cars and completing missions....

XgieroX, I'm eagerly awaiting Colin McRae Rally 3. I've played part one a long time ago and really liked it a lot. I'm also waiting on RalliSport Challenge to arrive.

PreDatoR, I was debating on whether I should purchase it or not. I've tried out Grand Prix 4 and didn't like it very much.

Sean, Midtown Madness 3 is coming out. But Microsoft says it might be XBox only. I hope we will get to see it on PC as well.

Sean, I've got good news and bad news. Seem that Tokyo Extreme Racer is going to PC as well as being an online multiplayer racing game.

Bad news is that so far it has just been stated for Japan. I sure hope it goes worldwide and we get it in the US as well.

Yeah I know what you mean about CMR3.

We played Multiplayer CMR2 on our LANs and it is so much fun. There are some glitches with CMR2 for multiplayer I hope everything will get fix when they release CMR3.

Well i've played my share of Driving games in pc and consoles.
Collin Mcrae rally 2 , is kickass in multiplayer,NFS3 i liked it in mp also(the hot pursuit mode with 2 teams during the night, kicks major ass).

Another GT like game for pc ,could be Sega GT for pc,but i didn't liked it IMHO.

Need For Speed Porsche was ace. Start on the old ones, race, win, upgrade, buy new or used, upgrade, race.......then up an era to the 80's...then the newest ones.

Plus a really hard/challenging Factory Racer setting, where you have loads of stuff from simple test driving new cars between cones, reversing etc..all the way up to driving through streets to drop people off and back to base.

It did tend to use the same maps, but there was loads of them....and it varies a lot. One idea in the game is a series of intercrossing roads in a mountain range, where you have to drive following the arrows at junctions , passing various Points, and go where it sends you straight after, so you end up handbrake turning and sliding and power drifting.

And the best thing about it.......the Porsches all handle just like the real McKoy

The original Need For Speed SE was the best of the bunch IMO. They weren't circular connected tracks, you actually felt like you were racing to get somewhere. Man I wish they would redo that game.
