i just noticed that win2k is different from 98/me - trying to play aoe on two networked 2k machines and they would hook up in multip[layer - 98/me gives you a choice between lan or internet - 2k gives you a choice of serial/modem/tcp-ip - i used the tcp ip and put in the identity of my server 192.168 etc, no go, then i tried entereing the name that showed up when i accessed it remotely from the kids computer dadxxxxxxx etc. no go -
something simple that i'm missing here - do i have to enable/permission the kids computer, etc. to play with my mine? - i'm dual booting both so it's no biggie - i'm just getting used to win2k - must more stable - faster for us dial up folk too, it seems
thanks
