Payday 2

Now that they've worked some of the bugs out of the PC version, I'm thinking about getting this. Good review:

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on this. Going to play some tonight, single player first to get my bearings, and then try some multi.

PoopiePant, Los and I are playing this very night together right now. Could use an extra player. It's like L4D2 with RPG aspects.

Some of the scenarios are wild, like the one where you have to break into an FBI building and steal a server.

Thanks for the recommendation I just purchased it tonight. I will install it in the morning and try to tinker with it tomorrow if I have time @ work.

Play a few solo missions to get used to the mechanics and learn the maps. The easiest heists to level up on in multiplayer are the Jewelery stores, the mall, and the four stores.

Lots of useful info here: http://www.ign.com/wikis/payday-2/

Hoard your money to start with. The default assault rifle is fine and you can use it a long time. You want to upgrade your armor. You can ALWAYS change armor before a mission - some missions you don't want to attract attention and want to wear minimal armor, and some you want heavy armor. Some missions have multiple parts: first you do the heist then your getaway vehicle crashes and you have a shootout on the street. You can change armor for the street shootout.

Forget silencers and and most other accessories for now - too expensive. You can afford them later.

If you spend money at all, spend them on skills.

Nice walkthru here on one of the Jewelry store heists:

Yeah still place one in a while. Best with friends but I've had some great games with strangers. Worth it for that price.

I'm game. It's fun with friends. Used to play with Los. I bet he'd still play. Really need at least 3 people. 4 would be better.
