Steam Summer Sale June 22nd?

Post by FlyingPenguin »

A post on reddit claims to leak an exclusive Steamworks secret in revealing a June 22nd start date for this year's Steam Summer Sale (thanks PCGamesN). This is unconfirmed, but it won't be a big surprise if it turns out to be accurate, as a bunch of the dates for Steam's big seasonal sales have leaked early over the past few years.

Sale is on.

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Digital Legacy Edition (includes Modern Warfare Remastered). $49.59
Not many playing but worth it just for Modern Warfare Remastered, and the multiplayer bots are very good. The zombie game is also good. If you want the DLCs then get the Digital Deluxe edition for $64.99
http://store.steampowered.com/app/29273 ... e_Warfare/

Killing Floor 2 $14.99
I have nearly 700 hours into this game. Best coop zombie game since L4D2, but with RPG elements.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/23209 ... g_Floor_2/

Prey $39.59. Awesome game. I'm still playing it. I get stuck and put it aside for a week and then go back to it. I'm about 80% through it and doing most of the side quests.

I sorted my Wishlist by price and bought most of the games on sale for 50% or higher with a couple of exceptions. I've had my eye on A Rose in the Twilight and Bayonetta so I picked them up:

Other recommendations:

Seraph $2.59 Acrobatic metrovania: http://store.steampowered.com/app/425670/Seraph/

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds $3.59 base game $10.79 complete pack. The complete pack is worth it as it adds Kurisu Makise & Frau Koujiro as playable characters: http://store.steampowered.com/app/32949 ... e_Grounds/

SCS Software Bundle - Includes American and Euro truck Simulators. These games are relaxing to play. $26.49. You can also pick up the Euro version only for $4.99: http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/19 ... re_Bundle/

Cities: Skylines $7.49 Base Game. There's plenty of content to try out. If you like it, pick up some of the other DLC before the sale ends: http://store.steampowered.com/app/25571 ... _Skylines/

NieR:Automata: $41.99 I love this game on my PS4 pro. You'll need the fan made patch to resolve resolution issues on the PC. http://store.steampowered.com/app/524220/NieRAutomata/

SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS: $19.99 It's Dynasty Warriors with schoolgirls. I have 30 hours in this. It's a solid 3rd person fighting game. http://store.steampowered.com/app/41183 ... VI_VERSUS/

AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed: $14.99. Action RPG. Very lighthearted. You destroy vampires by ripping off their clothing: http://store.steampowered.com/app/33398 ... Undressed/

I saw a few more worth looking at:

The Batman Arkham games are $5 each. These three are great. I didn't bother getting the newest, Arkham Knight, since all reports say it's broken.

[*]Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition http://store.steampowered.com/app/35140 ... r_Edition/

[*]Batman: Arkham City - Game of the Year Edition http://store.steampowered.com/app/20026 ... r_Edition/

[*]Batman™: Arkham Origins http://store.steampowered.com/app/20900 ... m_Origins/

The Talos Principle Gold Edition $13.63 http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/30 ... d_Edition/

Bethesda Softworks Classics Superbundle $59.86 http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/37 ... perbundle/
[*]20 Games total. Includes everything except the new Doom, Skyrim, and Fallout 4.

DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition $14.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/27808 ... on___with/
[*]It's Dynasty Warriors. It plays like all of the others.

SOMA $8.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/282140/SOMA/
[*]This is phenomenal Sifi horror.

Inside $11.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/304430/INSIDE/
[*]This is a game a recommend to everyone even at full price.

To the Moon $1.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/206440/To_the_Moon/
[*]Don't be put off by the RPG maker aesthetics. The is one of the best and moving stories I've ever experienced.

Contrast $3.39 http://store.steampowered.com/app/224460/Contrast/
[*]This is beautiful game with a unique mechanic of using shadows to solve puzzles.

Detention $8.03 http://store.steampowered.com/app/555220/Detention/
[*]Set in Taiwan in the 1960's under martial law, you play as a student reconstructing her past. This is one of the best games I've played.

The Stanley Parable and The Beginner's Guide $6.96 http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/18 ... ers_Guide/
[*]I can't describe these without giving too much away. They are both short but well worth the money.

Valley is also a really good game. It's $4.99: http://store.steampowered.com/app/378610/Valley/

The game feels a lot like Portal with very solid controls. The story is also pretty good.

Layers of Fear is $9.19 for the Masterpiece Edition that includes the main game and DLC:http://store.steampowered.com/app/39172 ... s_of_Fear/

I really enjoyed my time with this game. It's an atmospheric horror game with light puzzles and a great story.

For just stupid candy, Sniper Elite 4 is good times. If you crank difficulty all the way up it can be pretty challenging, but otherwise it is good for a simple hour of watching body parts explode.

Rabi-Ribi at $12.59 is a very solid metrovania/bullet hell. I normally don't bullet hells but this game thankfully has a casual mode that makes the damage taken less severe: http://store.steampowered.com/app/400910/RabiRibi/

Stories: The Path of Destinies at 3.74 is a great bargain. If you enjoyed Bastion, you'll like this game. It has the same type of Narrator but the game is set up to have multiple endings based on previous runs. Decisions made in previous runs also unlock more endings. http://store.steampowered.com/app/43919 ... Destinies/

Shadow Warrior 2 at $23.49 is a good deal. The game is fun but don't expect much replay value. I enjoyed it http://store.steampowered.com/app/32480 ... Warrior_2/

Here's a few more that I've played and recommend:

Blade Kitten Ep 1 $0.74, Ep 2 1.74 http://store.steampowered.com/app/9940/Blade_Kitten/
[*]2.5D Platformer / Action Fighting game. I enjoyed it even though it's a little short. But you can't go wrong at this price.

Virginia $2.49 http://store.steampowered.com/app/374030/Virginia/
[*]This is a walking sim but it's like playing a David Lynch Movie. I thought it was great and you can complete the experience in about 90 minutes.

Gray Matter $2.49 http://store.steampowered.com/app/260570/Gray_Matter/
[*]Point and Click adventure. Interesting story and a unique magic system that you use to progress some of the events. I admit I had to consult a walkthrough towards the end because it was a maze and I couldn't be arsed to take notes.

Syberia Bundle (1 and 2) $2.99 http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8224/
[*]This franchise saved adventure point and click gaming. There is some moon-logic puzzles but the game is very enjoyable.

HuniePop $2.49 http://store.steampowered.com/app/339800/HuniePop/
[*]Seduce women though match three. It's honestly a good casual game with very good voice acting and tropes.

Hatoful Boyfriend Complete Pack $3.50 http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/24 ... lete_Pack/
[*]This dating sim isn't what you it appears on the surface. One you date all of the pigeons, the real story unlocks.

Long Live The Queen $5.49 http://store.steampowered.com/app/25199 ... The_Queen/
[*]This is the Dark Souls of Anime themed visual novels. You must educate your princess to avoid untimely deaths. I got pretty far in the game (about 5 turns or so before a good ending) before I consulted a guide. There's lots of endings.

Oxenfree $4.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/388880/Oxenfree/
[*]One of my favorite games. There's lots of replay value if you're interested in the multiple endings.

The Guest $1.49 http://store.steampowered.com/app/402040/The_Guest/
[*]Short Escape the room game. Highly recommend at this price.

Buy DuckTales Remastered $4.94 http://store.steampowered.com/app/23763 ... emastered/
[*]Excellent Remaster. They got the original voice actors for this also.

Enemy Front $2.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/256190/Enemy_Front/
[*]Solid WWII Shooter.

Steamlink is on sale for 15 bucks. If you like playing on a big screen, it's worth it for 15 bucks. Just stick to wired networks. Wireless can be spotty unless you have good coverage.
