Grand Theft Auto V free to keep on Epic Games for the next 7 days

Post by FlyingPenguin »

I don't know who doesn't already have this game who wants it, but that's a hell of a freebie when it still sells for $30 without the DLCs on Steam.

This game is still sucking up a lot of my time every week.

Bad news is, the traffic has brought Epic's site to it's knees (might have better luck through the Epic launcher).

I'll probably try to grab it this week just as a backup for my Steam copy.

I grabbed it at 11 PM and the download was coming in at 35MB/s. I'll install it on Wifey's computer and maybe we can get her to play.
I can't believe they're including a million in-game dollars and the Criminal Enterprise pack.

Grabbed it so that I at least have it on file. Not gonna bother installing it.

Can we use our existing account so that we're not starting over?

I'm guessing you'd have to install the Epic version, and then when it asks you to setup or login to a Rockstar account, log in with the old account you use for the Steam version. That should allow you to use that account with the Epic install.

The question would be whether it would also link the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack that comes with this version to your old account, or would it want you to start a new account to link them to. No way to know but to try I guess, or wait to see if anyone in online forums posts their experiences.

I'm thinking, worst care you just create a new Epic account so you can download another copy to test the theory. ;)
