If you didn't like Wasteland 2 (I didn't), but you like the game mechanics of the X-Com games, this plays more like X-Com without the aliens and crazy psychic abilities, and is a much better game than it's predecessor. Yeah, there's a few futuristic weapons but mostly you're dealing with standard 20th century weapons after the fall of civilization after a nuclear war. Keep in mind Wasteland 1 is the game that inspired all the Fallout games.
Like X-Com it's an isometric view RPG, with free movement until combat starts, and then it's turn based. But while Wasteland 2's turn based mechanics sucked, this is much MUCH better.
I'm 8 hours into the game and enjoying it. I gave up on Wasteland 2 after 4.5 hours.

Wasteland 3 Review
Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.
