New Java Minecraft snapshot 20w45a

Well I haven't played in a long time, but this new snapshot has some interesting features, and I wanted to see how the game has changed.

They've really polished the game in the last year. Lot's of ease of use things like a recipe book built into the crafting table which let's you easily look up an item, and places the ingredients for you if you have them. MUCH easier than looking things up in a wiki.

For the architects among us, there are gorgeous new stones and metals you can decorate with. They added copper that oxidizes in this snapshot. I never really got into the architectural aspects in the past - my bases used to be rather utilitarian. But I now feel I'm ready to go in that direction.

It's still a pleasant time sink. I was at it 7 hours straight last night starting out on a new map.

It's amazing how much they keep adding to that game. Honestly, it's hard to even keep track any more. I play it over LAN with my daughter every few months in a world she started when she was about 7.
