im sick of this Roku Express HD we own it keeps dropping signal (having to reset) so we just reconnected are spectrum cable box .(we get cable tv and cable as part of are condo monthly fee's
im thinking maybe replacing it with a Fire TV Stick.
any good bad or ugly thoughts .

I've got both and I use the Roku sticks daily but I do use the Amazon ones when I want to stream IPTV stuff over VPN. YOu can install apps on those, such as Kodi.

I use Roku on all my TVs. I have Plex installed on them with Plex server running in Unraid. Get Roku.
