Normal temps on GA7DXR/TB1.4/Pal8045-anyone?

Post by blackhawk »

I have the above setup and my mbm reported temps are quite a bit higher than my epox mb. I realize the temp pickups are in different spots, the epox on a short rigid stalk while the gigabyte is on a folded tape that touches the bottom of the cpu. This pal 8045 is a pain to install & check but my temps are from 40c to 48c at this time. My ambient is about 23c.

If it wasn't so much trouble, I'd swap in my GW with 80mm fan to see if theres a diff.

With the pal, the seating of the hs is very hard to check due to the size of the base and the nylon washers tend to spin if you tighten too much and can cross thread fairly easily. As well, I wouldn't want to reuse the nylon nuts too often as the threads would wear out fairly quick.

On my epox, when I switched to the XP the temps dropped a good 5c across the board and with the Mcxc 370, they dropped a couple more with the top end dropping about 5c so that it ranges from 28 to 32c now. Very nice hs.

Anyone with Ga7DXR talk to me.

You can not compare temperatures from different motherboards, temps might even vary on the same mobo with different BIOS. There're too many differences between the motherboards that can influence the temp readings.

You even mention that the tempsensors are in different spots. The mobo tempsensors in the socket are just estimating the temp based on some formular in the BIOS.

I wouldn't worry as long as loadtemps stay under 50C
