What is the max multi on P4?
Because if you look at the new 533mhz FSB P4s, you could get a speed of 5333mhz w/a 10x multi.. So it could be done now.. But I don't know anything about the P4s.. eGo

the 533 fsb is just a quad pumped 133
so your multiplier would still have to be 37.5- im gonna guess 5000mhz is about 14 -18 months away witht he curve running the way it is now..... Man and i can remeber when i bought my first 75 mgz p1
my 286, 386 and 486's were decimated by it 260 cpu
toss in 32 megs of ram for about 150$

all you AMD uses have ignored the fact that Intel already has a 800MHz FSB P4 out. They plan to hit 10GHz in 2005, so says the Inquirer:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ w/ stock cooler, 1GB PC3200, Asus K8N, Built by ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, two 45GB IBM 7200rpm IDE drives, 16X DVD-ROM, Pioneer DVD-RW +/i, Creative Soundblaster LIVE 5.1, Antec Sonata w/ 380W Antec psu.
Yeah but....
The Intel chip will probably be even less efficient than the PIV is today! I bet AMD will match it's "real world performance" with an XP 4100+ CPU.....

Going to Oregon....
Hey Augix - I'm going to Oregon later this month. Maybe we can meet at a computer show again. I was at the Chantilly show a few weeks ago, and picked up a PNY Geforce4 Ti4600 for only $120. That was too good of a deal to pass up....
Anyway, I've been working on the Globe of Retribution machine again. This was the machine that had the old Abit KA7 mainboard in it. The board started acting weird, and then I noticed numerous leaking capacitors. I started replacing them (one actually), and decided it wasn't worth it. So I picked up one of those special Athlon XP 1700+ CPUs (JIHUB stepping, I believe), and another EP-8RDA+ mainboard. Then I painted the case a nickel color, and replaced the top red window with a clear one. The machine looks real nice, and it's running over 2 GHz too. I should have some pictures in a day or so.
