i just bought a mb ...i have an old case and therefore old power switch/hd led/reset...etc...wires.
they dont fit the new panel1 arrangment on the mb
i figured the pwr switch is the only one that matters and since both the cable and mb have two jumper holes for it, i plugged it in but the computer wont respond when i try to power it up =\
PANEL1 wire incompatibility

old stuff uses AT power supplies which has a different plug in to the mobo - AT cases also use a different power switch configuration - ATX is simply off on, but AT uses stuff through the mobo connector
you can modify your way around this with an AT to ATX power supply connector and swap out the reset button for the power off on switch, but unless you need a really primo power supply, it's easier just to fork over ~ $30 at compgeeks or wherever and get a decent 350W/400W power supply
