I've been trying sooo hard to get this system stable at 11x200, and I still can't. It made it thru 4 hours and 57 minutes of Prime 95 at 1.7v. I'm at 1.65v right now. Seems to boot fine.

I had 512mb CH-5, and it wouldn't do jack shit. This ram only does something when it's in the two clots farthest away from the processor.

I'm thinking I may buy an NF7-S and see what the differences are. This board has lots of problems, including the fact that I can't cold boot past 209fsb with this ram.

Running Prime95 at 1.65v now. Seems to do fine. It could be the ram though, couldn't it? Casuing errors? I have my timings at 2,2,2,12 at 2.9v (I just raised it in the Uber BIOS) at 200fsb. That should be NOTHING for BH-5.

Bah, I hate this... :-\

BTW: The ram tests out great in MemTest. So, if it does, does that mean it's something else causing the errors?

Also, how long is long enough for Prime95 to determine your system is stable?

With ram it's real simple. If it doesn't do it's advertised speeds by passing memtest86 ( use version 3.0 ) , send it back. Anything above default settings is gravy. I think system memory, as usual, tends to lag behind current chipset capabilities. It's kind of a crapshoot when you come right down to it.

As far as anything Asus goes, you dont' want to know my opinion on their stuff. I once took a log splitter to an A7V that gave me two days worth of headaches.

I just thought of something...I don't think I ran Prime95 before (with ym Corsair) for longer then a few hours. It coulda been instable then too.

It COULD be my PSU, BUT, my rails are OK. If I had a problem with my power supply, wouldn't it reboot? I plan on getting a new True 480 soon anyway, but I've heard that even those rails aren't the best.

The only other weakest link I could think of would be the motherboard. My processor, at 1.65v never gets above 47 C

My core ranges from 1.58 - 1.71v
My 3.3v ranges from 3.28 - 3.36
My 5v ranges from 4.81 - 4.92
My 12v ranges from 11.67 - 11.8

Not TOO bad, but enough to keep a system stable, I would think.

What would usually cause an error after nearly five hours? Ram would probably cause errors instantly and so would the processor... So, what could it be?

I've finished roughly 1 hour of Prime 95 at 200x11 ram at 2.9v and processor at 1.65v...so far :)

Just finished a work unit. Screw Prime 95. :D

So, I think I'm stable at 200x11 at 1.65v Not bad, I run really cool now too. ;)

I did make it thru 4 hours of Prime yesterday, but I did something that caused an error and it reset on me. Oh well. :) (error in windows, that was)

If you get by prime for more than a couple hours, you're pretty much good to go as far as real world applications go. I wouldn't sweat it if it's stopping after 4-5 hours. That's prolly heat related more than anything.

Random reboots and explorer errors are another story. That's a stability problem to be sure. Make sure you memory goes thru 2-3 tests, w/ memtest86, at any FSB you choose to run at. If you can do that and prime runs for a few hours, you got no worries. :)

Bottom line on this 1700+ after some extended voltage tweaking sessions is.....

10.5*210 FSB for 2210 MHz ( 740 MHz overclock !! ) with all voltages ( chipset, ram, agp ) @ default in the BIOS and the cpu voltage @ 1.6v (1.65v in BIOS, 1.6v on MBM5 ). Default voltage for CPU is 1.5v.

Kidz and Wife bulletproof stable. :)

TwinMOS running @ 7-2-3-cas2. Passes memtest86 and runs prime

This is one SWEET chip. :D

I might sell this one. If you're interested.....LMK.

I've got my Barton back in at this point. I bought this 1700+ to test the upper ranges of my chipset and ram.

What type of PSU do you have? And just how stable are those Dragon boards?

Maybe try bumping voltage a little bit? I can't imagine you'd have to with a very small oc.
