how do i overclock bigger than 1.2ghz

every time i overclock higher than 1.2ghz my computer gives me explorer error although my cpu tempature is 69 degrees Faranheit. waht is my problem got lots of cooling plz tell me my mobo is abit vp6 and cpu intel 1.0ghz thx

post cpu type. fsb, what kinda memory you're using, cpu/ram voltage, fan/heatsink you're using, etc. and we'll try and help ya!

512 ram manufacturer Ibm
HD Western Digital 10 gig and 60 gig
32MB ati rage Pro 128
sound card Montego II by Aureal
Nic Linskys
FSB SPEED OF 160MHZ TOPS I CAN BUT ON MOTHERBOARD IS 178MHZ FSB
CPU INTEL P3 1.0 GHZ
MY MOTHERBOARD IS AN ABIT MOTHERBOARD NO JUMPERS ALL TWEAKS MADE BY BIOS

i think you've gotten to the end of the road with the p3 - that's a very high oc by the way - that's about as fast as those puppies go - you can check the cpu database at http://www.overclockers.com to see if anyone has gone faster and how but you've just reached the liits o fthe chip
