After that, the dvd and cdrw drives are gone. The primary and secondary ide(dual fifo) is gone in the device manager. To get them back I have to go into safe mode and delete all drives and controllers from the Device Manager. On the reboot, the default Win98 drivers get installed. I also did the infamous Format C: and installed 98SE fresh with no other hardware or software installed. Same problem.
