What kind of CPU and heat sink do you have?

Does it fit in a socket or a long slot? If it's socket then it's about 2 inches square while a slot cpu is about 5 inches long.

So if it's a socket then it's what's called "fcpga". The slot version is called "slot 1". Also, what speed is it?

fcpga, 500 mhz slot 1

its also was made by compaq, and i'm having a problem overclocking, i pressed f10 to go into the bios and i couldnt find anything that had to do with the cpu, whats the deal?

Well, if its an Intel board they dont offer any OCing options. You might just need to use this: http://www.voodoofiles.com/2679 its a program that lets U oc in the OS.

U install the heatsink yet?

ghaaa! compaq eh. :P

Then you need a socket a heatsink if you are needing one. You need to apply thermal compound between the cpu and heatsink. A thin-even layer. The cpu is the raised metal part, the only part that touches the heatsink.

First apply thermal compound, then raise the side clip or bar and let the cpu slide on the socket. Move the bar closed and then attach the heatsink. Attach the back clip first and then gently lower the heatsink on the clu and attach the front clip. Depending what heatsink you have a screwdriver may be needed to guide it on the mobo catch.

I have never used a compaq so I have no clue there, sorry. But look for voltage settings or just open all choices in the bios till you find what you want.

err uh wait a minute?
fcpga, 500 mhz slot 1

Which is it, it can't be both.
