Duron 1.3 ghz or XP 1500

Post by redrum »

Roughly the same price, XP 1500 a little more. For a board that is SDRAM only and going to be used in a car, what would you guys go with?
I'm going to say a word, and you tell me the first word that comes to mind.

Troll....HardOCP
HardOCP....Trolls

I rest my case.

If it's only a little more then why not get the newer cpu. If you decide to sell it later it'll be easier and hold the value better. ;)

Just make sure your sdram mobo supports the XP+ chips. Some do, some don't. Prolly need a BIOS flash even for the one's that do.

better the bottom end of a current line than the top end of a core thats being phased out very soon and most motherboards support the 266 bus

more room to overclock & heat is down from the tbirds for sure

I have 1600,1700 & 1800 XPs plus a tbird 1400 unlocked I have to find a home for
