one of my computers is a ibm system which is running a 700mhz celeron. i want to try to identify the board and see what the fastest cpu it can support is. how exactly should i go about doing this? it is a socket 370 board. i am pretty sure it is based on the intel 810 chipset....
is there a software utility that can find out what the motherboard is?

thanks.

if you can get some kind of a part # off the mobo chipset or a model # off the edge of the mobo somewhere you can try searching that string in the ibm and intel websites - you can also try google if that doesn't work

when you boot the system after the cpu is done posting, at the bottom of the screen is a string of numbers, press the "pause/break" key, write those down then do a search. that should help put you on your way. You can also try "wims bios page".

Have you tried motherboards.org ?

They have some pretty cool mobo id tools.

Good luck!
