I think I solved my overheating problem

I lowerd the vcore down to 1.55 volts and my Thunderbird 1Ghz runs really cool now. Hasn't crashed or anything yet, running stable so far.

My temps are now:
5 mins. idle is around 27 degrees celsius.
10 mins. regular use is around 30 celsius.
10 mins. gaming is around 37 degrees celsius.

wow 1.55?? heh thats kinda neat. to get my 900 @ 1.00GHZ its at 1.850. But not too hot at all its like 40 degrees C, much more than yours but not that bad, I've sen worse hehe.

interesting - maybe your mobo is throwing real high voltage - i know my kt7 raid seems to show about .5 volts higher than i set it

37 celsius is very reasonable after heaving gaming.
What kinda case ventilation do you have?

I have an Addtronics 7896 case.

Intake:
2 Lower Front 120mm fans
1 Lower Back 90mm fan

Exhaust:
1 Top Back 90mm fan
1 TT900 Bay Cooler

running at a low voltage is hard on the cpu. The gates(circuits) won't open correctly.

I put back the vcore voltage to 1.75 again. I just installed al my case fans so it runs really cool now.

The hottest the cpu gets now is 42 celsius. Way better than my older temps of over 50 celsius. Not as good as when it was at vcore voltage of 1.55 but from what smb said I just want my cpu to run correctly.

slightly lower such as .5 shouldn't be a problem. the cpu is spec'd to run between a low and high with optimal being in the middle. It's extreme high's and lows that aren't good.
