ok i have a mother board that i have put in a 800 and 1.2 and it read both at 121 c.

if you mean 121 degrees C, then, yes, it HAS to be wrong. 100 C is boiling point, so...there's not processor that could stand anything more then 70 C i think.. (correct me if I'm wrong).

ya, i think your right. i think the motherboard would have already died tho, they don't last as long temp wise as the cpu.
you reposted before i could

so do you think the probes are messed up or could it be the powersupply giving wrong power to the motherboard

Those temps can't be right. Are you having any instability, lock ups or other problems? Also what heatsink/fan are you using?
Mobo temp probes are rarely accurate but usually not THAT far off. I use a gigabyte mobo too and it's 2-3c off. As long as your system is stable I wouldn't worry about it.
I doubt the psu is causing that. How's your voltages?

CPU Core 1.74
AUX voltage 2.4
+3.3 volt 3.34
+5.0 volt 5.0
+12.0 volt 11.61
-12 volt -0.59
-5.0 volt -5.51
+5.0 standby 4.87
by the way this motherboard i am talking about is a ECS K7SEM, not the one in my sig

Those all look fine except for the -12. Mine is showing 10.83. Not sure about that one if it matters though.
Everything stable? If so then no need to worry about it.
I would check and see if there is a bios update for your mobo. That might help give you closer temps.

seems stable
i ran cpu benchmark with sandra software and it did it with no problem
still running
i just dont want it to blow up in my room
this is my wife's system

It won't blow up. If the temp gets too hot your system would either lock up or shut down. Possibly reboot too.
I've had a few cheapy power supplies blow. Sounded like a gun going off, but there was no other damage and nothing flew out of the system. It all stayed in the psu.
