8rda/+ and northbridge cooling

A few of you have posted putting water-cooling on them, and getting pretty good temps. Just curious as to what otheres have on theirs as well as the temps??

Mine has a Zalman Heatsink on the northbridge, and a copper plate from a vantec iceberg set on the southbridge. AS Alumna on the Northbridge, sticky thermal tape on the southbridge (no way to keep it attached, see pic)

It usually runs about
33c idle
39c before I shut it down.

seems like I should be getting less, my cpu is ~38c right now, and the mobo is 35c!! (from both bios and mbm5) I hate how the northbridge is so dang close to the heatsink where the hot air blows right into the northbridge. Has anyone had this problem also??

Hurry, help me quick so I can get folding again!!! ;) hehe

ive got mine stock for now, and i got 100 on the cpu and 89 on the other. is that what the second sensor in mbm is reading? the north bridge? I plan to put one of them Zalman coolers on mine and move the stock cooler to the south bridge.

80mm fan on the NB for me, took the stock h/s off cleaned it up with some AS paste. At 100 percent usage I run an average of about 48C on the cpu and 34C on the mobo. My compunurse is reading close to 40C and it's right above the graphics card. A lot depends on how much extra voltage you are pushing the system with, If I unclocked it and brought it down to stock voltages, would reduce temps considerably.
Not to mention I'm in a warm room in sunny FLA :) Oh, cpu heat sink is an SK-7 with a 3700 rpm 80 mm fan.

after reading all your temps, i new that it seemed a bit high.
reinstalled/re-greased the northbridge, it seems a lil better. idles at 28c, highest load has been ~32c. Think I had to much grease on it, lol :O

I put a water block on my 8RDA+ north bridge. With a little dremel action, I modded the original north bridge heat sink to fit on the south bridge. :)

I just....

I had one of those small chipset fans handy (bought 1.5 years ago), and so I just screwed it onto the Northbridge. I'm not sure which Winbond sensor reads the Northbridge temperature (if any), so I don't know what my temps are other than the CPU and (I think) the case. My CPU runs 41C under load; the case is either 22C or 33 C. That last one may be the Northbridge....am I correct? :yo

well i did it and now its at 86. but its warmer out since last time... and i moved the stock HS with alittle grinder action over to the south bridge.
