i am looking for a motherboard for my first build.
im interested in the following asus mobos, i need your opinion of which u think is the most affective for it's price and purpose.

P3B-F
P2B
P2B-F
P2-99
P2Z

comments? suggests? all are appreciated.

I have personally had 2 p3bf's and still have one. one Sweet board. still regarded by Many as one of the top 3 bx boards. Super stable and nice bios.

I agree. I think the P3B-F is really a Maytag...

If you're getting a socket cpu, you might also consider the Asus CUBX. It has all the good things from the P3B-F, plus a promise ATA-100 controller and 5 USB ports.

I'd also recommend you stick to an Intel chipset. People might shoot me down on this one, but VIA and Intel aren't a good combination IMO

If you HAVE to get a asus motherboard go wit the P3B-F
, otherwise ABIT kt7 w/radi is whati have now and this is my fistd build. It is pretty cool but do what you want.

Asus's BX line is by far the best in the business. Thier P3V4X (although a via chipset) is a good board too. Cusl2 is the best of i815e boards I've used, and that's typical of asus. You also get a piece of mind with asus... they'll warrenty everything they make, no matter how hard you abused it :)
