The dual core processor will preform better for multithreaded tasks. I mean a second virtual core of a cpu 400 mhz faster is going to be blown away by a real dual core, but of course you loose that 400 mhz for single threaded apps.

there are very few applications that take advantage of Hyperthreading let alone a dual core. I personally think your better of with HT for the moment.

Carlesious you question is pretty vague as well. what will you be doing ? what processor in particular are you looking at ?
