Dead mobo?

Post by blade »

I get this "premo" MSI Neo Platinum mobo in and hook it all up. A few times it got to the bios, then screen goes blank. Usually it stays blank when booting then emits a long beep after around 5-10 seconds.

Tried all I know. Changing video cards and memory, reseating them, using one memory stick in all 4 sluts. Diff psu, trying with just the basics. CPU works fine in another setup but then back in this MSI with another cpu, same bs. :( Tried with it out of the case on the anti static bag it came in.

Figures too. Like a dummy, before I tried it out I replaced the northbridge cooler and added small ramsinks on the mosfets. Was very careful in doing so.

Tried resetting the cmos, removing the battery, dancing the jig, played twister for it. Nothing yet has worked. Any ideas?

The cheapy ASRock mobos have all worked in systems I recently built for others. But thought I'd get a better one for myself with more o/c options and an extra pci slut. duh

RMA'ing this will cost at least 10-15 for shipping back because so much is included.
