hello all,

My problem is that i want to install 4x 1gb DDRII memory in my system. after checking out the HP site for my PC i found the following probs in the INFO pages:

: can you see the prob??
in the product help it shows only pc4200 but on my MOBO spec it shows pc5300!!!

...and, what exactly is my system bus?? 533,800 or 1066

bloody hell HP are usless!! talk about confuse people!!

please could anyone help me with this prob!!

PC-4200 is the minimum that mobo will support. The memory bus will run at whatever the clock speed of the memory is.

The system bus will depend on the processor you install.

If this is an OEM system with existing RAM in it, don't screw around. OEM systems are very fussy about memory. Go to Crucial.com and use their database to look up your PC's make and model (not the motherboard's make and model if this is a complete OEM system) and use whatever memory modules they recommend. They're guaranteed to work.

Be aware that unless you install a 64-bit OS you will likely only see 3Gb of that 4Gb memory.
