EVGA GTX 1060 SSC

Post by Key Keeper »

Is it worth it to even overclock using msi proggie? My junk FX 6300 is running at 4.3ghz, 1600mhz DDR3 ram running at 1700mhz and pice bus running at 109hz. At this point on air I think my system is maxed. Only thing I haven't done is OC the vid card. I did see about 10fps increase by OC the PCIE bus, but I think I may be at my limits on this old junker. seems like other than CPU, there is no need to OC anymore.

SSC is a superclocked card - it's already overclocked. You're not going to get too much more out of it.

I am hoping once I move to ryzen 5 setup, it plays games better. Cant even use raytracing on this thing, it just coughs.

If you mean RTX, no. While the 10xx series can do RTX, it's done in software by the driver, and it's terrible. I tried Minecraft RTX on my 1080 just to see what it looks like and while it's pretty, it's unplayable.

Yes, very unplayable. When I turn it off, it sets everthing to ultra in tomb raider. Even with it off, I have to turn detail down to high and a few other settings to get the 60-65fps playable. Sucks I just bought a 144hz monitor lol.

There is a guy here in my small home town selling a evga RTX 2070 for $375...I kind of want to jump on it.

Not a bad price.
