My 1ghz T-bird with a KT7-RAID, 128mb of good PC-133, 185v (so far) will only do 1200mhz (100x12) but won't boot Win98SE so far at 100x12.5 (next highest multiplier) and I havent yet tryed to adjust the FSB to 103 (or higher).
Has anyone bumped one up higher and if so, how exactly?

I'm so ashamed. My cpu only does 1.2Ghz.

/me thinks EvilHorace put this thread up to brag about his 1ghz T-bird that only does 1.2Ghz. :/

The highest FSB T-Birds do is about 115Mhz. Most T-Birds/Durons can't even do that FSB.

So its harder to overclock a T-Bird by using the FSB only. And you wouldn't get as much overclocking speed out of it anyways. Thankfully by unlocking a T-Bird's or Duron's multipliers an easier overclock that gets the most speed is achieved.

evil, have you tried using the softfsb utilitiy from h oda?

wvjohn, not yet but if it won't presently go past 1200mhz by just using the multiplier, why might that help? It doesn't do 1250mhz with its top bios Voltage of 1.85v and I'm not sure I like the idea of soldering a resistor to my mobo for more voltage, at least until I study it more in detail.
BTW SBP, no, I'm not trying to brag, I'm really curious as to what's top speed now.
At one of the forums I found linked from Pauls KT7 FAQ, there was a thread mentioning a 1.4 ghz T-Bird so I'd gather that a 1.2 ghz T-Bird unlocked goes to 1.4? The highest multiplier setting with the KT7/KT7-RAID mobo is 12.5. I don't know if the Asus board allows for a higher multiplier or more than 1.85v as is.

I found another site too where some guys say the (almost) exact setup as mine is goes to 1296 (108x12) or 1300 (12.5x104) and with the same voltage and air cooling too but so far I havent seen a good explanation as to why. It's not a big deal but I do wonder.
