I've been using Cloudnet for months now and it's better than nothing, effectively filters out MOST spam (not those that you want to hear from like some filters) BUT lately more and more very creative spammers are creeping past that because they're using many different "friendly" type names and subjects, often mispell, switch identities and subjects everytime, etc. It's usually from internet drug companies or re-finance offers. I keep adding each to my neverending block list but that's not stopping these guys.
Cloudnet works with Outlook Express. I've used another e-mail program (Incredimail) but at first they had no descent spam filter and I got tired of all the spam. They then finally added their own spam filter last spring which I tryed but it filters ALL incoming e-mails unless already they're in your address book, so no new e-mails can arrive from anyone (pretty useless IMO).
Anyone know of a better program?

I've been using SpamEnder at work with Outlook since May of this year, and now my spam has been cut by 99%. I used to get 50+ a day, but after running SpamEnder, it's nice to come in to work, fire up Outlook, and have zero spam in my in box.
At work, we probably have around 13,000 email address, and SpamEnder will scan your address book, along with anything that the company has set up, and consider all those good emails. All other emails from outside the company, have to be approved through a response by the sender, meaning SpamEnder send an email back to the oringinator. If the originator does not respond (which 100% of them do not), then they are blocked.
This program works quite well, and several now in our company are using it.

Spamender Q
Executioner or others who've used this program,
I've installed SpamEnders trial version but I'm not seeing it shown anywhere in Outlook Express OR listed in the start/programs list which seems very strange to me. No new icons added to the system tray or an EXE icon on the desktop either (just an install only exe icon which installs/re-installs the same program and a user manual.
I've tryed installing, re-installing too and its installer says it's installed. It IS shown as an installed program in the control panel/programs so it's there.
So, is that program that "invisable" to the user? I see no new icons/buttons in Outlook Express. There's a "spam" folder but Cloudnet installed that before. I've un-installed Cloudnet so that there'd be no possible SW conflicts.
Oh yeah, even though it didn't ask, I re-booted too.
Should there be a "block" button like CloudNet had?

Evil,
When I got SpamEnder in May, it only worked with Outlook. On the Outlook tool bar, the icons for the program are there, but I hardly ever use them since the program is automatic for me. The program can also be found in the drop down menu from Outlook under Tools.
When you downloaded it, did it mentioned it wokred with Outlook Express?
When I launch Outlook, SpamEnder will scan your contact list to determine any new additions, along with your inbox. At work, we have lots of email address and groups, so it takes about a minute or so for SpamEnder to scan these contacts. Once this is done, it pretty much runs by itself with no intervention.
I don't use it at home, because I receive any spam at home. I use a Yahoo account for everything that I do on the net. My isp email account only goes out to family and friends.

Spambayes works well for me. If you take the time to read about how it works and how to use it I think you might like it. You need to train it for a while but once it starts learning it works well.

You will need to look at the bottom of this page to figure out what you need to do if you are using outlook express.
