Firefox bookmark question

Post by JD »

I just recently redid my whole bookmark list (I have literally thousands. lol). I'd like to import them into firefox (I like IE better for managing my favorites). Now, I know I can go to manage bookmarks...import. But, it seems it will only let you import a firefox-generated bookmark list this way. How can I go about importing my IE favorites (you know, like how you can when you first run the program)?

you should be able to import directly from ie during startup, or just export from ie to a file and import that

i had ie/firefox on the source computer so just exported to a file on a floppy

be sure to check the "extensions" for firefox for other utilities which may help

i have found most of the functionality to be there but sometimes clumsy instead of rename bookmark you have to change the name in properties..

Yeah, I downloaded the extension and it works. It will only let you import one at a time unless you export the bookmarks from IE to a single file. This was my problem. Its all sorted now though :)

I did this as well....but I imported the whole IE list as a link in the FF bookmarks.
It says "imported bookmarks"...when you rest the pointer on it, it opens the entire list from IE.
