Bulk file renaming trick in Windows

Post by FlyingPenguin »

I never knew you could do this. I do this sort of thing a lot, and usually waste time doing it manually.

If I knew you were going through all that trouble, I would have told you about "Bulk Rename Utility". Been using it for years now and it's power AF.

I think I've used that utility before. Downloading now for the next time.

I use BRU for all of my media stuff. I have it go through all the folders which have the names of movies, shows, etc. and it renames the file inside the folder, to match its parent folder. Works great. I've got it down to a science. If you can't figure out how to rename something, search for it, as many have detailed the steps. Takes a little figuring out but it's powerful stuff. Very handy.
