Best Linux package for a laptop?

Here, let me start the list:

CD1:
/disks
/docu
/dosutils
/full-names
/setup
/suse

19 loose files

CD2:
/full-names
/suse

CD3:

/full-names does ALWAYS include the /i386 subfolder in which you find all the hundreds of RPM packages
/suse seems to always include the SAME subfolders on each CD (more or less), which then hold the hundreds of RPM packages
I checked the first 4 CD's (thank god there's also a DVD in the pro package)

I think you can see from this small list alone that it's no good to only list the folder in root of every CD cause every CD seems to have at least /full-names and /suse ... you would need at least the next level to see which folders inside /suse are on each CD, get my drift why this would be quite some work ?
I'm not lazy and would like to help you with that but I still have a life

p.s. did you check the SuSE hardwaredatabase at http://hardwaredb.suse.de/index.php?LANG=en_UK if your PCMCIA card is supported ?

I hope you understand that I tried to say that in each /full-names/i386/ are not the same RPM packages, always different ones.
The total number of RPM package (0kb sym-links?) in all /full-names/i386/ is 2300+ , divided over the 7 CD's ... so I dunno if ya can just drop'em all in each /i386 subfolder.

Oh well, here the list of subfolders in /suse/ on each CD ... the /suse/contents/ varies, it only includes stuff which is in the other subfolders.

So, this is about all I can do ... going any further into the details, uhm, I don't think so. Good luck ... if it ain't work, just get the LIVE-EVAL iso and do a testrun, buy the distro when you like it. The handbooks are pretty good for beginners and even for the more advanced users PLUS you get 60 days (personal version) of free installation support (email, 90 days with pro version).
