I'll stick with Win2K on my workstation but sooner or later I'll need to aquire XP to familiarize myself with it for computer servicing.
It took them a year to get Win2K really tuned and stable - especially with games, and I expect XP to also have a long and painful maturing period.

Someone has to show me first that game performance increased from 2k to XP (what I doubt) and also say that drivers are better (looking at SB!Live drivers) ... and only then I "might" consider the rather costly upgrade ... until then I'll stay with 2k.

No Voodoo support in XP.

I'll stick with good old trusty 98SE.

Thats prob cause you did a clean install right? so of course its going to be faster than your old rotted out install of 98 or whatever you had on there. And the corporate version doesn't have the Product Activation in it... only the home retail versions do.

Well first I upgraded from Win2k to XP, but it was really flakey. So I decided to do a fresh install. So far everything I had installed before is working just fine. I really like the feel of it. Lots of cool features.

I've been running it for near a week now, dual booted fresh install. I love it. Not a single problem with it besides a minor in-game refreshrate bug. Other than that, it is great. I haven't booted up the old install since.

Anyone tried a Win2K/WinXP dual boot? Any pitfalls?

Dual ME/XP here FP, no problems. Not what you asked I know but still worth knowing I think.

I'd expect ME or 98 to dual boot okay, just wondering if XP and Win2K would get along.

Is it me or does WinXP feel like Mandrake-linux 8.0?
I know I'll probably loose a couple of frame-rates from some of my favorite games, but I think this upgrade is worth it. I've have WinME/WinXP dual boot and I havent use WinME since the install. You guys have got to try it.

Hell, even 98se is better than
WinME.

98se / XP Pro dual boot here. At this point the only things I use 98se for are Need for Speed 5 Porsche Unleashed and Half Life.
