Since I started using Linux Mint 18.1 on this spare Lenovo laptop, I've been looking for alternatives to most of the standard packages that cost money. Here is a link to those free software packages: https://whdb.com/blog/2008/the-top-50-p ... ernatives/
I needed to find a free program that will replace Quicken 2014 that I'm currently using, and I found one called GnuCash. One nice option is it will import your Quicken data.
I also have my two browsers, FireFox and Chrome, protected with Firejail https://firejail.wordpress.com/. I'm also slowly learning this new OS, and the more I use it the more I like it. I also have VMWare Player installed running Windows 7 x64 for some of those apps I don't plan to stop using.
